For almost 100 years after the abolition of slavery, black people face domestic
terrorism, segregation, and disenfranchisement from municipal and economic privileges

The Civil Rights Act promised access to public spaces, education, and bolstered employment rights for all people regardless of race

Civil Right Act Of 1968 - promised housing rights to all people, regardless of race

For 52 more years, black people continue to suffer the consequences of the U.S. federal government's failure to provide the equal protections defined in the Civil Rights Acts
