Black Farmers were routinely cheated out of land ownership by the Federal Government - See the effect today

The US Department of Agriculture's own files disclose decades of policies that resulted in the loss of land owned by black farmers. Loss of that land had a ripple effect on the wealth gap that we see to this day.
